Sailing

As I’m sure you’ve said to yourself many times recently what a year 2020 has been!

I started the year in Ireland and then I had a flurry of trips almost every fortnight up until March when I arrived back in London the day before lock-down started here in the UK. I haven’t posted much since then, but I have sat down several times to try to finish off a blog post about the trip to South Africa, but as I remember it, then try and write about it whilst looking at some of the stealthy photos I took of some of the lifeguards I get a little distracted.

I am going to attempt to finish it off this weekend and get it posted as I am currently self isolating as I just got back from an amazing sailing holiday on the Dalmatian Coast that had been booked prior to the pandemic. Like everyone else I’ve had a lot of trips cancelled over the last 6 months but I have been wanting to go sailing on the Dalmatian Coast for over a decade, but I’ve never been able to get all my ducks in a row to make it happen.

Needless to say this trip is the one I’ve been looking forward to since lock-down started and I had high expectations and thankfully it didn’t disappoint. On the down side there was supposed to have been 5 of us but one couple’s schedule would not let them do the 14 day self isolation period when we returned so they had to pull out.

I am going to write a few blog posts about the trip so I won’t tell all in this post but I did want to share this one photo from the holiday with you.

This was taken just before 9am in the morning, and I was the only one on the boat as they others got up before me and were paddle boarding on the other side of the island. I had just woken up and jumped in the water and been for my morning swim in my AussieBum Classic 1.5 Maroon swimmers. When I got back onto the swim platform I slide them off grabbed my towel and went to the galley to get a coffee.

I came back with my coffee with just my towel wrapped around me and sat on the swim platform until the others came back from their paddle board.    Aussie Classic 1.5 Maroon on sailboat
